Kitkat Update now available for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N900A and Galaxy S4

Just before a moment news spread in Google that Samsung's high ended phone getting official software update.   • After that, device starts download new released firmware. When completed, click to continue and automatically phone reboot.

comparison:LG G PRO 2 vs Galaxy Note 3-MWC 2014

We are waiting for next tablet from LG G Pro 2, one of most anticipated device of this year. Which is the success of the G PRO generation. Now we going to compare it with Samsung Galaxy Note 3. First of all, consumer impress on its size of the device. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is 5.7 inch display and 5.9 inches in G PRO 2, with high resolution in both phone. LG made a fabulous job in clear cut finishing and texture behind, which feel great in hand.

Update Sony Xperia Ray to Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) firmware

Android 4.4.2 Kitkat one of the latest version OS from Google, but this OS update is not yet roll-out for last released Smartphone or Tablet. When your device restart, press volume up button to recovery mode. There select backup and restore option. Once you backup process completed>go back and factory reset to wipe out all data

Running a Tor relay on a TP-Link TL-WR741ND

... is not possible (for now).
It tuns out even the spacious 32 MB RAM on the 741 is not enough for Tor.
Even with a custom minimized firmware, logging in via serial so I can kill dropbear and save a meg of RAM, this is not enough.
I was able to get to ~70% of the setup, with about half of the caches loaded when the system went out of memory.
I tried to put the caches into a compressed loopback image with

# mkfs.jffs2 --pad=0x500000 -o /tmp/rootfs.jffs2 -e 0x4000 -n -d/tmp/jffsroot

but it only helped a little bit, mostly because their contents does not compress well. The tor binary kept growing in RAM and eventually reached about 20 MB. Then I was out of memory again.
So it looks like it might only be possible to run Tor with the caches located on an external storage, provided Tor's RAM usage won't grow over ~25 MB.

TP-Link TL-WR741ND unbricking

So I was playing with the router, mounted one of the system partitions and after reboot it wouldn't come up.
Fortunately the box comes with serial, although not in very convenient way.
The OpenWRT wiki has photos with locations of the pins.
After some soldering and hot-glueing I had the serial port ready:


To connect it to the PC, I've finally found some use of the Arduino, or rather the FTDI chip that comes with it, as described by ZooBaB:

Reset Gmail Lock/Too Many Pattern Attempts Without Formatting Your Android Phone

Did you experience when your android phone suddenly asked for your gmail account because it encounters "Too many pattern attempts"?















Most of us comes to our mind that resetting your phone to factory settings (by going to recovery mode, power button + volume up -- in most devices) will solve this problem. The risk in doing it will totally erase your contacts, calendar and so on -- if you always performs syncing to your google account, you don't have to worry :)

In this tutorial, I'm gonna show you on how to fix the "Too many pattern attempts" without resetting your phone to default factory settings.

Requirements:

1. Your phone (of course!)
2. USB connector
3. PC/Laptop
4. Android Multi Tools

Instructions:

1. Connect your phone to the PC/Laptop.
2. Make sure that the USB debugging on your android phone is turned on.
3. Open the android multi tools and run the Android Multi Tools.exe
4. You will see below interface.

5. As you can see, there are options from 1-9

Profile commands.
1.Check Device used to check the connection of the machine mode ADB.
2.Reset User Lock Code using the tools that are in the data is not lost.
3.Reset Gesture Lock machines that are used to draw a line through the data is not lost. After the installation is complete, it will fire up. Then draw anything for a closed lock.
4.Reset GMail using the machine to try to unlock the machine several times to enter to unlock.
5.Wipe Data used to resolve the symptoms or slow down. Or that an error or some missing.
6.Reboot to reboot your PC or from adb shell.
7.Check Device On Fastboot Mode to check the connection of the machine mode FastBoot.
8.Wipe Data / Cache On Fastboot Mode This command is available only Fastboot Mode to resolve the symptoms or slow down. Or that an error or some missing. That is often found in the CPU Spreadtrum.
9.Exit Fastboot Mode to reboot your PC or exit FastBoot.

6. Press number 4 then enter.
7. Then press number 6 to reboot your device.
8. Cheers! Your phone's gmail account has been reset successfully without the need to restore to its factory settings.
