Android 4.4.2 Kitkat one of the latest version OS from Google, but this OS update is not yet roll-out for last released Smartphone or Tablet. At present Sony Xperia Ray is running on Android ICS operating system. All you need to do is unlock boot loader which enables to runs device on other OS. read here>>how to unlock boot loader.
Download following files in your personal computer:
- Use custom ROM recovery tools for installation of Carbon ROM, like recoverXtools, This tools allows to flash your device
- Shutdown device and access to internal setting by holding volume up button.
- Then connect device to computer , there extract and open Fastboot zip which you downloaded from above link.
- find boot.img and extract to any other location and move all files to fastboot folder
- search and open for runme.Ink files, automatically redirect to command prompt.
fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0xfce reboot
When your device restart, press volume up button to recovery mode. There select backup and restore option. Once you backup process completed>go back and factory reset to wipe out all data
Installation of ROM: select install zip from your SD card and complete all the process. Then using same method, install Google apps package. reboot your device all done! Now enjoy Android 4.4.2 Kitkat on Sony Xperia Ray
