How to root Tecno w4
Download SuperSU.zip here   and save it to the phone's storage
Download TWRP for Tecno w4 here
Unzip the TWRP zip file and flash the recovery image to the phone using SP flash tool

How Can I Flash it Using SP Flashtool? Please see guide and download link here

Boot the phone into TWRP recovery mode (by Holding the Vol Up and Power button for 5 seconds)
In TWRP recovery, Choose install zip from sdcard- to Choose zip from sdcard use vol up and down scroll up and down then choose the Supersu.zip file from the root of your sdcard.
Scroll to yes and install, after a successful flashing go back and reboot.

You are now rooted! go straight to Google Playstore and download root checker to verify your root status.

3.Open QPST Configuration -> Add new port -> Select the com port of your device -> exit

TECNO Droidpad 8D (8II) Full specification

TECNO seems to be faster than the speed of light. Just within some couples of weeks, they’ve released 3 devices, 

TECNO J8, 

TECNO W4,

 TECNO L8 

and now TECNO Droidpad 8D (8II).

It is a 8-inches tablet with IPS capacity touch screen. Run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. I was expecting it to run Android 6.0 out of the box but my assertion was wrong. I don’t know why Tecno only pilot Tecno W4 with Android 6.0 while others run Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The tab is powered by by an MTK 64-bit Quad Core Cotex processor clocking at 1.0GHz with a monster k battery of 5,000mAh. The Tab has a nice feel and currently supports 4G LTE.

How to fix an MTK Android phone bricked after an OTA update

For like MTK devices e.g Tecno, Gionee, Infinix, etc Android phones

We've seen OTA bricks involving both rooted and non-rooted devices so rooting can't be said to be the ultimate cause, only a possible contributing factor.

It often starts with you getting a prompt saying "an update is available" or you going to Settings > About > System update .
If after the update, your phone only boots straight to recovery mode as in the picture below

then fixing it is very easy.

All you need to do is download the firmware / stock ROM for your exact phone model

then flash only system.img (Android) using SP flash tool learn how to use sp flash tool  here

- Turn off your phone, remove the battery (if the battery is removable) and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone).

- Press “Download”button to start

- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
